Password Keeper 2.0.30.0
Those who are on the lookout for a simple tool that is able to accommodate all their social, personal or office accounts can take for a test drive an app with a suggestive name, Password Keeper.
Clean and easy to use front-end
Through a tidy, yet unadorned GUI this utility makes it possible to easily go through all the sections and add the usernames and passwords that you want to safeguard.
The decent graphics and smooth navigation among the various sections of the application are some of the attributes that characterize it from the visual perspective.
All the content is kept well organized and easy to access, as it is structured into several categories, each with its own list of entries you can go through.
Also, getting to the main functions and commands is fairly easy, since most of them are hosted inside the main menu that is displayed in the lower part of the screen.
Add and manage passwords and credentials
Adding the personal information you want to keep inside Password Keeper is easy to carry out and you can store website login data, social network credential, office or PC access details that you want to have protected.
For each new entry you include in the app's database you only have to specify the account name and the password, but it is also very important to pick the right category before saving the item because you will not be able to move them afterward.
A restriction of the trial version of this utility is easy to come by, as creating custom categories is possible only in the full edition, so you will have to get along with the social networks, computers and emails default categories.
Editing and removing entries can be done only after you select the respective item and it opens up in a separate screen, so no batch processing is possible at this time.
A more serious flaw is represented by the lack of security that becomes evident when Password Keeper is recalled form the recently used apps list, as it will not prompt for the access code set on the first run, thus allowing anyone to see the data stored inside.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The looks are very simple and not too impressive, but the ease of use, good structuring of the content and smooth navigation earn it some good points. |
Function5
The operation is very simple and the basic features seen in many similar apps are here too, but the security flaws can expose, in certain conditions, the stored info. |
Security9
Most of the secure areas of the system are left untouched, but the utility requires access to the multimedia libraries for some reason. |
Battery4
There is a significant battery usage while this application is running, as its power consumption remains at very high values. |
Price9
Most features can be used freely and without nuisances, but to add custom categories a payment is mandatory. |
Compatibility10
Those who want to take this app for a spin can do so on any Windows Phone device that is powered by version 7.5 or higher of the operating system. |
