Password Clues 1.1.0.0
Windows Phone owners can now try a special app that takes a different approach and ensures the protection of your passkeys in a less usual manner.
Called Password Clues, this application will not store any of your passphrases in its database, instead it uses them to generate relevant hints that will help you remember the access codes.
Plain interface, made to be very easy to use
At first glance, the looks of this app are less impressive, as the focus is evidently set on practicality, so the visual elements are not too appealing inside the main screen. Nonetheless, things change a bit when opening the stored entries, as the hints are neatly colored and with some fun graphics.
The items you add inside this utility remain all inside the same secion, arranged in the order they were inserted, without any possibility to rearrange them alphabetically or in another way.
Some pesky ad banners follow you around and they are continuously changing in the lower side of the screen, which can become tiresome to put up with on prolonged use.
Add account data and manage it on the go
Each time you want to include a new entry in Password Clues you have to fill in a few data fields that consist of the website, service or app name, the username and password (needs to be entered twice).
Once the item is included in the app's database, you can edit the information or remove the respective record after opening it in a separate screen. The management commands reside inside the main menu at the bottom of the screen.
Remember the passwords using all sorts of hints
The utility shows you a set of hints that refer to the use of digits, special characters, use of uppercase or lowercase so you can try and figure out the lots password. To help you even more, the passkey length, the first and last letter, digit or symbol are shown.
In case you need even more info, tap the "Visual Hint" button from the main menu to receive a clue that shows the full length password with a few characters revealed. This hint will always remain the same, so that nobody can gather the complete passcode by opening and closing the app repeatedly.
