Windows Phone users can try PassVault, an app that uses 128-bit AES encryption to make sure no one can look into the database and retrieve the goodies stored inside and it has an even stronger ciphering standard for password hashing.
Uncomplicated front-end, made for ease of use
This utility comes with a very simple GUI that is made for ease of use and even if it leaves visual appeal aside, the app still manages to offer a decent interface.
The main functions of the utility reside inside the main menu you can reach from the lower side of the screen, while the data input offers enough space for adding the necessary details.
Going through the few areas of PassVault is done seamlessly, as there are no lags or other glitches of this kind. The items inside the "Accounts" section are all ordered alphabetically and by tapping the category name you can browse them as well, so as to reach faster any item you are looking for.
Insert the
data to keep it safe
PassVault is a breeze to operate, so you should have no difficulties in operating it. Adding new entries to the list takes only a couple of seconds since all you have to do is select the category or create a new one on the spot, then fill in the username and password fields before confirming the fresh addition to the database.
Optionally, you can include a note and an URL address to each entry, as the app can open the respective with one tap if you select this option from the menu that appears when pressing for a few seconds on any entry from the main list.
Even from their creation, stored passcodes can be marked as favorites and thus sent automatically in the respective module of the application for faster retrieval.
Manage passwords and generate new ones on the spot
From every item included in the database of PassVault you can copy the password or username if you choose the corresponding function form the above mentioned menu. There is a "Search" function built-in this app, so you can lookup stored passwords on the fly.
The password generator feature that is packed inside the utility enables you to create strong passphrases that include numbers, special symbols, letters and have up to 32 characters in length. With a single tap on the generated password you can have it copied to the system clipboard.
The backup functionality included in the "Settings" area is not available in the free version, so you will have to buy the full version of PassVault in order to enjoy it.
