Notebox 2.1.0.1
Fortunately, Windows Phone users can have both with a single application, the one that goes by the name of Notebox.
Well designed interface, with a cool layout
The appearance of this app is quite nice, as it comes with some neat graphics, quite appropriate for the purpose of the app. The notes are presented in an organized manner and it is possible to change the ordering so as to have them shown by creation date or by content.
Browsing among the notes and navigating among the various sections of the app is seamless, without any lags. A noticeable drawback is the presence of the ad banners that seem stuck to the lower side of the screen where they are continuously changing.
Add new notes and edit existing one on the spot
With the help of Notebox you can easily write down any information or create a list then have it stored inside the app. Each entry can accommodate over a dozen rows, so there is plenty of room to fill with information.
In case you want to have quick access to any of the notes you can simply pin them to the Start screen. This way, you can open the note to view its content or write something new without having to open the app.
Password protection and quick sharing
This utility relies on a passphrase you will have create on the first run in order to ensure the access to your notes is possible only after providing the correct password. You can modify this data at any moment via the "Settings" menu.
In case you want to distribute the content of any note, there are two sharing possibilities at hand, namely the email and the SMS message options you can access with a single tap.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The application has a pretty nice look, with carefully designed graphics and a very convenient layout that accommodates all the functions and commands, while the only major hindrance comes from the pesky adverts. |
Function9
The utility brings a solid set of features that are quite handy for anyone who wants to write some notes and keep them private or share them with friends. |
Security8
For some reason, the app needs to access the location services, owner and phone identities, even if these do not seem related to any of the functions. |
Battery6
The power consumption for Notebox is quite noticeable, so the battery usage will reach very high levels when the app is used for longer periods of time. |
Price9
Overall, this tool is well worth a try because it can prove a keeper, despite the adverts and some other minor glitches. |
Compatibility8
The application is tailored for Windows Phone 8 and higher devices, with a minimum screen resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. |
