Many modern devices are multifunctional and smartphones can be very versatile as their users can profit from the numerous applications available for each mobile platform and repurpose the handsets as they need.

One of the possible uses someone can assign to their mobile device is related to a very common item most people have near them at home or at work, namely the desk clock.

Windows Phone users can try a utility called Night Stand Clock Lite and turn the phone into a neat looking clock to keep on a bedside table or anywhere they like.

Easy to read display, with dimmable light

This application offers you the nice and classical look of a LED clock, featuring the bright fluorescent light we are used to from such devices. The digits are very easy to read even from far away when the brightness is left to its default (maximum) value.

There are two color schemes you can opt for, more precisely a green and a blue theme. Also, in case you wish to lower the intensity of the vivid light, the app enables you to do so by simply swiping the screen vertically or horizontally, with the former movement being a lot faster to produce visible effects than the latter.

Adjustable layout and fast clock configuration

Night Stand Clock Lite allows you to use it in both screen orientations, so you can keep it either in portrait or in landscape mode. The advantage of the latter is that you can also view the seconds, provided you activated this feature from the "Settings" area.

The utility is also able to display the time in the well-known 24-hour and 12-hour formats, an option that also has to be enabled from the above mentioned section of the application. The current day of the week is shown automatically, without you having to make any configurations in this respect.
