My Passwords 2.0.1.0
My Passwords is a specialized utility that aims to provide the much needed safety of personal information, while also keeping the information easy to retrieve by the rightful owner.
Nice looking and practical front-end
This application comes with a relatively simple interface, but it features some carefully designed graphics which are consistent from end to end and has a neat background image as well.
The information you add is kept at hand and accessible from the categories you make, so the content remains well structured. All the commands are easy to reach from the main menu that resides in the lower side of the screen.
There are a few nuisances inside My Passwords, but they appear only when visiting the "Settings" area and they come in the form of some animated advertisement banners.
Create categories on the fly and fill them up
Inside this app there are no built-in folders for you to store passwords in, so you will have to create the containers by hand. The process is very simple and in no time you will be ready to insert new passkey entries in the app's database.
When it comes to adding passwords, credit card info, logins or anything you want to store, this app offers an intuitive method that takes you through only a couple of steps, namely choosing the category and then inserting the necessary data.
Note that you don't have to fill in all the fields, only those for which you want to add some info, so there are no restrictions in this respect like with other similar tools.
Basic security and protection tips
My Passwords relies on a numeric PIN code to secure the access to the database and you are prompted to choose a passkey as soon as the app starts up. This code can be modified at any moment from the "Settings" area.
There is something you have to be careful at when using this application, more precisely you have to make sure you close the utility when you are not using it, because it can be accessed from the recently opened apps list and the security code is not required when doing this, so the data may be exposed.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
From the visual perspective this utility seems well designed and with some good graphics, despite the ads that appear in a single section. |
Function5
The operation is very simple and the basic features seen in many similar apps are here too, but the security flaws can expose the info in certain conditions. |
Security7
The application will require access to the phone dialer as well as to the owner identity and photos library for no good reason. |
Battery7
There is a noticeable power consumption related to the run time of My Passwords, so the battery usage goes over moderate levels at times. |
Price9
There are no costs and the adverts appear only inside the "Settings" area, so this utility has a very good value overall. |
Compatibility9
Those who are willing to give this application a try can install and use it on any Windows Phone 8 or higher handset. |
