Common GUI designed for functionality rather than good looks
The interface that greets you once you install the app onto your handset is quite dull and unadorned. The controls are all neatly tucked in the main menu that resides at the bottom of the screen, just under the continuously changing and irritating ad banners.
Navigating through the pictures, whether they are stored inside the app or when making the selection for importing new items is fluent and glitch-free. Also, the preview for the pictures is very responsive and the zoom commands work seamlessly as well.
Some really bothersome prompts that ask you review and rate the app will appear out of the blue, no matter the area of the app you are in or the task you are about to carry out.
Password protected photo vault
Adding the images you want to safeguard inside the application is an easy task, as you can opt for importing them one by one or in bulk, making a multiple selection.
The passkey for opening the utility and accessing the data must be at least 4-character long and you can have it backed up to your OneDrive account, despite the announcement displayed on the log in screen that this feature is for the "Pro" version only.
Image editing and hidden capture device
Media Locker is equipped with several extra tools that bring a bit more value to the whole package, more precisely inside the main menu you will find an entry entitled "hidden camera". This feature enables you to take snapshots with the screen blackened and with only one colored spot that represents the status of the device.
A powerful photo editor is also bundled with this utility and you will have the possibility to modify the pics on the spot. Unfortunately, the app crashes when some functions of the editing component are selected for use.
