For those who own a Windows Phone powered handset, there are quite a few alternatives when it comes to utilities that are meant to protect the content kept on the mobile device and Media Locker Pro is one of them.
Well designed GUI, with a practical and easy to use layout
The looks of this utility are quite polished, with some carefully designed graphics throughout the application. All the functions and commands are conveniently placed, but they lack some text labels, which are quite necessary for a few buttons with symbols that are a bit difficult to interpret
The navigation among the various sections of Media Locker Pro is fairly good, with a bit of delay when loading the thumbnail previews of the videos and pictures in the albums you are currently browsing.
Occasionally, some full screen ads will come into view and when starting up the utility some prompts to rate the app will appear.
Set the passcode or pattern lock, then add all the files you want
This application supports two types of login method, so you can go for the classical numeric key approach or use the more modern pattern lock style. Either way, you can change this from inside the app and also modify the passcode hint.
To store the media files from your phone or from the attached SD card you have to create albums and add the items one by one or in batches. The secure note feature enables you to write down any texts and have them safely kept inside the corresponding module.
View images in slideshows and increase the privacy by using decoys
Media Locker Pro can serve as a video player and image viewer as well and the photos you add to the albums can be played as slideshows, for which you can set up the duration and transition mode.
To fend off prying people who might try to access the app, this utility can show a dummy screen at startup or a set of fake folders, courtesy of the "Snoop Stopper" feature. All the activity is logged and you can get notifications to the lock screen by activating this option from the "Settings" area.
