Matrix Vault 2.1.0.0
For Windows Phone users there are several tools that aim to provide a means of storing inside a virtual safebox various types of files and documents and Matrix Vault is one of them.
Easy to use and efficient GUI
This application comes with a plain appearance, as the visually pleasing elements of graphical design are altogether left out to favor functionality and ease of use.
The content is kept pretty well organized, with the commands ready to be use at a moment's notice from the main menu hosted in the lower side of the screen.
Smart access protection method
The passcode setup is the first thing you will have to do when opening Matrix Vault after it is installed and you will have to pay a bit of extra attention while carrying out this task, as it can be quite intriguing, but rest assured it is also extremely efficient.
Thus, in order to correctly configure the access code you have to select four different small boxes then confirm your choice. The next step is to input 4 numbers corresponding to the previously chosen spaces and you have to do this in the same order.
Do not be daunted by the fact that the numbers on the lock screen are continuously changing, because any number that appears at least once in the respective boxes can be inserted.
This cool method will ensure every time you want to unlock the app a different passkey will be needed, so even if someone catches the numbers you input one time, without knowing the correct spaces and the order they will not be able to penetrate the vault.
Add the content to the protected area on the fly
Matrix Vault is able to accommodate inside its safe storage several types of data, so you will be able to input passwords or login info, create secure notes and import existing contacts or add completely new ones.
For the digital images you have the possibility to create several albums, but note that longer folder names will not be displayed properly. A drawback is the fact that only one image at a time can be imported, as multiple selections are not supported.
If the text based entries can be edited, the pictures can be viewed individually and sent to the "Camera Roll" on your phone if you need them unlocked.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The appearance of this app is less appealing and more practical, but it still scores decent points form the visual perspective. |
Function9
Matrix Vault offers a quite good set of features and an original approach thanks to the smart passcode protection, but it doesn't support adding several items in one go. |
Security10
This is a pretty well-behaved utility, as it will not come even close to secure areas of the system unrelated to its functions. |
Battery4
The considerable amount of power needed by this app to run translates into a very high battery usage. |
Price9
As it offers every feature without asking for anything in return, the app is an excellent deal overall. |
Compatibility10
Anyone who wants to check out this application will need a device powered by Windows Phone 7.5 or higher. |
