KeyRing 2.33.3.0
For those who want to keep logins and account details safe onto their Windows Phone devices it might be worth trying out KeyRing, a specialized application that aims to help in this respect.
Less attractive look, focused on functionality
This app greets you with a very simple interface that is made for ease of use and lacks any visually appealing elements of graphical design or any sort of customization options that would make it a bit more attractive.
Accessing the main functions and commands is fairly easy, since most of them are hosted inside the main menu that is displayed in the lower part of the screen.
The smooth navigation through menus and functions seems to be one of the very few positive characteristics of KeyRing that is worth taking into consideration, insofar as its design is concerned.
Easily add passwords and manage them
Adding inside this app the information you want to protect is a simple process, as you can insert the title and optionally the URL address (useful for online services), then the user name and password. In a separate screen you can add a memo for each entry and the space offered for writing down the content is quite generous.
With one tap on any of the entries stacked inside the main screen of the application you will reveal its details, with the associated password hidden. Checking a box under the passcode field will unveil its content, so you can view the respective passcode.
Next to each field inside KeyRing you have at your disposal a "Copy" button, which comes in very handy when you want to use the credentials and log into an online account, for example.
In case you want to erase the clipboard content, there is a dedicated button for this inside the main menu at the bottom of the screen. From the same menu you can disable the alphabetical sorting of the database entries.
A neat thing about this utility is its built-in support for NFC and this enables you to add new entries that benefit form this technology, as the application can write tags, which, in turn, will allow you to access the protected areas without having to manually input the password every time.
Removing entries from the KeyRing database can be done one item at a time or you can erase them all at once, using the dedicated functions provided by the utility.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The appearance of this app is decent, but unadorned and with a dull aspect, so it loses a few points form the visual perspective. |
Function8
There are some neat features inside this package, with NFC support and buttons for copying the content to the clipboard, but users cannot create custom folders. |
Security10
KeyRing remains very discreet during installation and use, as it doesn't need to peek into any sensitive areas of the system unrelated to its functions. |
Battery6
The high power consumption of this application means that the battery drains pretty quickly while the tool is up and running. |
Price10
Getting for free all the features offered by this app is a sweet deal by any standard and the tool has an excellent value overall. |
Compatibility10
The utility should be able to run without any issues on all Windows Phone 7.5 and above devices. |
