This utility brings you a very simple interface, where all the functions are neatly organized inside the main menu hosted at the bottom of the screen. Also, the navigation through the password list and the various sections of the application is seamless and without any sort of delays.
Revealing the hidden fields is pretty neat, as you will have to drag downwards the arrow shown next to each entry and the hidden fields will be revealed momentarily.
Create categories and add the data you want to protect
When it comes to adding passwords, notes or login info, this app offers an intuitive method that takes you through only a couple of steps, namely choosing the category and then inserting the necessary data in the corresponding fields.
When adding the first item inside the protected database of KeyKeeper you will have to create a group as well and then any number of entries can be included in each of these categories.
Should you care to completely erase all the passwords stored in one such group, the utility provides a quick means of removing the container altogether with a single tap.
Security options and potential problems
The app makes it possible for you to secure the access in one of the two ways it supports. More precisely, you can resort to a classical numeric PIN code of at least 4 digits, the alternative being a more fancy safe lock type of login.
There is no recovery option, so make sure you store it well or remember it because otherwise you will no longer be able to access the data inside. Fortunately, there is a OneDrive backup and restore function at your disposal, so you can export the data there from time to time.
An important thing you should keep in mind is that KeyKeeper has a pretty big security hole that can be exploited by anyone who can get a hold of your phone.
To be more specific, when the app is running in the background and you activate it from the system's memory there is no prompt for providing the login credentials.
