Slightly different from what we see when using an Internet browser to log into the Facebook account, the mobile app is nonetheless quite friendly and intuitive.
Once you are in, with a swipe to the right you can get to the main menu and by swiping to the left from the main screen you will get the list of favorite friends, so starting a conversation is very easy.
The notification, messages and friend requests icons are conveniently placed in the upper part of the screen and you can also swipe to move between them.The smooth navigation and the nice chat toasts and live tiles certainly add more value to the whole package.
A viable alternative for mobile users who want to stay in touch with everyone
Most of the basic features you have become accustomed with by using the browser-based version are present in the Windows Phone app. As a bonus, the toast notifications and live tile features can be activated to bring a taste of Facebook onto the Start screen of your handset.
There are, nonetheless, some exceptions and drawbacks like the absence of management options, which makes it a hassle to modify the profile, access your games or manage groups. On the other hand, setting Facebook as the lock screen provider is a definite plus and there is also a neat "shake to refresh" function.
The necessity to log in through the Internet browser and make these modifications from there pretty much defeats the purpose of having a separate app installed if such important tasks cannot be carried out with it.
