Eye Care 2.1.0.0
Eye Care is one of the applications that were especially tailored for Windows Phone users who want to evaluate the acuity of their visual sense on the go.
Vividly colored and easy to use interface
The utility comes with a front-end focused on practical use, but also featuring some fairly well designed graphics, that are vital for obtaining accurate results while performing the tests.
Going through the various sections of the app has a fluent feel to it, without any delays or other flaws of some sort. The information is well structured and ordered inside every section of Eye Care and this makes it easy to read.
Go trough several tests and get prompt results for each of them
This application comes with a selection of evaluation methods that you will encounter when visiting the doctor for your regular eye exam.
Thus, you can start with the Visual Acuity Test, which is best carried out when another person is present to make the selections as you will have to keep a certain distance from the display. Once the evaluation is complete, you will receive the results that tell you how many times you got the correct answer.
There is also a Color Blindness Test, where you have to select the correct number and keep on going until all the plates have been read. Quite similar to this one, the Ishihara Test is also included in Eye Care, as is an Astigmatism Test that requires you to be a bit more focused on the images shown inside.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The appearance of this app is rather common, but still fairly well designed and offering a seamless navigation among its modules. The graphics are clear for every test, so the evaluations can be done with a pretty good accuracy. |
Function8
Eye Care provides a good set of evaluation tools, which consist of the most commonly encountered tests. The feedback is immediate, with the results promptly displayed often after getting passed each question in the examination. |
Security9
This utility manages to stay well off the secure areas of the system, but it still needs access to the built-in camera as well as to the video and still capture without an evident reason to look in there. |
Battery8
Thanks to a reduced amount of power that is necessary to keep the app up and running, the battery usage remains low all through its run time. |
Price10
Overall, Eye Care manages to provide a very good method of checking the visual acuity through several tests, so it is certainly worth a try. |
Compatibility9
Well prepared to function correctly on most Windows Phone handsets, the app only needs version 7.5 of the operating system installed onto the target device. |
