Dull appearance for a rather well organized GUI
This particular application is less visually appealing than most similar tools, but this is because it focuses on practicality rather than good looks. The color scheme may be rather monotonous, but there are some nicely designed charts inside and the information is presented in a very easy to read manner all through the app.
The smart organization of all categories of incomes and expenses is somewhat troubled by the presence of the continuously changing ad banners that are shown inside the interface in every screen.
Fast data input and content customization
Adding amounts for various categories of incomes and expenses is done in a very simple manner and Expense Tracker Free has the advantage of being able to handle several accounts equally easily.
For each new entry, you can specify the corresponding category and in case it doesn't exist by default, you can create it in a couple of moments. The customizations do not stop here as you have at your disposal a means of managing the subcategories for expenses.
Built-in data protection and backup features
In order to help you make sure your data stays secure, the application is offering a password protection feature. The only thing to keep in mind about it, besides the passcode is that in case the access key is lost, so will be your data, because there is no way of getting inside the app.
There is also a backup and restore function ready to be used and it will sent all the records to your OneDrive account in a few taps. Alternately, you can go for the email option and send expenses and incomes to your own inbox.
