Drink-Aid 1.0.10.0
In case you want to have a close control over the beverage-related expenses and also look after the calories ingested while sipping your favorite cocktail, wine or beer, having Drink-Aid installed onto your Windows Phone handset might prove really useful.
Uncomplicated front-end
The application comes with a clean interface, where simpleness is key, so the visually appealing elements of graphical design are pretty much missing. The tile that appears on the Start screen looks pretty decent, though.
Going through the several sections of the application is smooth and glitch-free, while all the controls are easy to reach and use from the dedicated area of the utility.
Configure the settings and start counting
Drink-Aid enables you to easily setup the thresholds and get notified through color codes when certain limits are reached. More precisely, you can choose the number of drinks for the yellow and red limits as well as the maximum value you are not supposed to get passed.
Each time you tap the app's Start screen tile, you will add one more drink to the tally and when the first warning limit is hit the shortcut will turn yellow, while the warning sign for the high value turns the tile red.
There are more parameters you can configure, so you will be able to input the average cost per drink, as well as the average amount of calories. To help you with the last variable the utility has a built-in list that covers the most common drinks.
Reset the count and view the summary
Inside the "Summary" section of Drink-Aid you have view the statistics for each recorded day and you can also view the weekly and monthly data. For every entry the app shows the date, number of drinks as well as the total cost and calories.
To save a session all you have to do is press the "Reset" button and then tap "OK" and the entries will be kept inside the application.
Viewing a chart with your summary is not available in the free version and you will have to make a purchase to unlock the addit

The application has a decent look, but lacking any adornments and focused exclusively on practical use. |
Function7
The feature set offered by Drink-Aid is pretty nice, but it would need some data export abilities and more configurations. |
Security10
This utility is well-behaved and doesn't need to go anywhere near the sensitive system areas, so it scores top marks. |
Battery4
There heavy resource utilization becomes evident when the app runs for longer periods of time, as the battery consumption is very high. |
Price8
Most of the features are free to enjoy, but viewing the charts for the statistics and using the app for more than 14 days requires payment. |
Compatibility9
Drink-Aid can be installed and used without any issues on handsets that are running Windows Phone 8 or higher. |
