Destinations 1.0.0.0
In case you are not too fond of collecting postcards or taking pictures of every spot you go to, there is a neat app you can install on your phone and use it for marking on the map the places you've been to.
Simple and clean GUI, for quick operation
The main focal point for this app is the map that has a good deal of the main screen reserved, so you can lookup places and view the visited locations at a glance. The graphics are fairly simple, without any bells and whistles, while the legibility of the information you add is very good.
Navigating around the world map and getting to the marked points is seamless, without lags or any glitches, so you can view up close each location you tagged on your travels.
Add destinations on the fly
When it come to the actual operation, Destinations could hardly be easier to use. Inserting a new pushpin on the map is done in a couple of seconds as it only implies you typing in the address and giving a suggestive name to the location that will be included.
Once the necessary data is put in, a fresh marker will appear on the map and a new entry will appear on the list displayed right under the map, in the main screen of the app. The locations shown in there are ordered alphabetically, so as to make it easier for you to find them whenever necessary.
Simple zooming and destination management commands
This utility makes it possible for you to adjust the zoom level manually, using the old "pinch" method, but there are also a couple of preset values you can use. More precisely, you can zoom out completely with a tap o the corresponding button from the main menu, or go only half way by pressing the other command.
To remove individual destinations you can simply select them and then tap the delete button shown next to that entry, or in case you want to completely clean the database, delete them all at once with the dedicated function also available in the main menu.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The looks of the app are far from impressive, but the smooth navigation and well organization of the layout certainly deserve some appreciation from the visual perspective. |
Function6
The feature set is quite basic, without any advanced features for adding notes, pictures or other such things, but the utility is quite handy as a collector for visited places. |
Security10
There should be no worries when installing this application as it only needs the location services activated, but this is to be expected given its functionality. |
Battery8
Quite friendly with the system resources, Destinations needs a fairly reduced amount of power to run, so the battery usage is moderate at the most. |
Price8
For those who want to keep a simple catalog of the places they visited, this app is well suited, but the lack of more advanced options and features decreases a bit its overall value. |
Compatibility10
Perfectly adapted for use on any Windows Phone device out there, the utility only needs a handset powered by at least version 7 of the operating system. |
