Uncomplicated GUI with a nice look to it
This app is pretty well designed, with a neat background and some decent graphics inside the main screen, where all the operations are carried out. The converted values are displayed clearly, while the exchange rates appear in a smaller font, so as to avoid interfering with the numbers for the converted amounts.
Going through the long list of currencies to select the two that will be used is very fluent, although the navigation would be even faster if the utility would offer a letter jumplist option. The ever-present advertisement banners appear at the top of the screen, where they are continuously changing.
Fast conversions for supported currencies
This utility features a lot of entries in its currency database, but not all of them can be actually used for the transformations, as their rates are no longer retrieved because they have been retired from circulation or replaced with other symbols that Currency Converter doesn't include on its list.
Once you make the selection for currency A and currency B, simply enter the desired amount and the results will be displayed instantly, as the application carries out the transformation in real time, as you type.
Unfortunately, there are some conversions for certain currencies that are calculated wrongfully at times and restarting the app solves this issue, at least in some cases. Also, often you will receive a notification that announces the failure in retrieving the exchange rates, but the transformation can still be done.
