Uncomplicated and straightforward GUI
The application relies on the mobile version of BBC's website to provide the information you are looking for, so the layout should be quite familiar.
Thus, the interface is well organized, even if it doesn't excel from the visual perspective, while the content is structured neatly, so as to make it a breeze for you to access any article regardless of the section you are currently browsing.
A major source of discontent is represented by the presence of the advertisements that come as banners and in full screen, popping up with a high frequency.

There is only one menu that enables you to go through the news stories, namely the one made for accessing the various sections of the mobile website, provided by BBC.
You should note that loading the articles may take a short while because the information is brought from the online database, but the video and image quality is very good.
The video content is loaded inside each article, which means you can view and listen to the recorded material, while having in front of you the written piece of news as well.
In case you want to view only the clip, tap the dedicated button and you will have on-screen only the respective clip and the ever-present adverts. Unfortunately, the application doesn't support landscape orientation, so the full-screen view is out of the question here.
The main menu hosted in the lower part of the screen enables you to move back and forth among the visited pages or return to the main screen by tapping the "Home" button.
In case you want to refresh the data and see if any new articles have been added, you can trigger the update with the help of the "Refresh" command, which is available from the same menu.
Unfortunately, a notable lack of BBC News refers to the impossibility to share articles or content, as many similar tools are able to offer such possibilities.
