WordPress 4.8.1
Not only are the folks over at Automattic pretty great at giving the world’s site admins what they need, but they’re also pretty great at creating some great mobile apps.
Extremely easy to use
If you’ve ever used WordPress in the browser, then handling its mobile app should be problem for you since you’ll find pretty much the same options to handle the site. But let’s take it step-by-step.
First off, the WordPress app will help you read the latest posts from blogs you’ve subscribed to. In the Reader section of the app, you’ll be able to see various posts, complete with a picture (if available), the headline and about four rows of text, although that depends on how big your screen is. There are also several buttons underneath, allowing you to reblog the article, see the comments or who favorite the post. Clicking on the article will allow you to see the full text and anything else the author may have added in there.
Get your notifications
Then, the Notifications area will let you see the various things that have happened to your blogs, such as new comments, likes, follows, or comment replies. The app has the ability to push notifications for a series of things, such as comments, likes, achievements, reblogs, follows and more. If you have more than one active blog on WordPress, you’ll even be able to choose for which of these you want to see notifications.
The “Me” area will display all the blogs that you have on the platform and you can even add more if you so want to. You can always remove any from view if you’re not particularly active on them.
This is also the area that will facilitate your access to the dashboard, where you can create new posts and pages, manage comments, view stats and so on.
Compose on the go
Finally, there’s a composer button that enables you to write up posts on the go. The cool part about it is that you have some extra editing features, such as a way to stylize text with bold, italic, underline or strikethrough, add links, quotes or text breaks. It’s even possible to add photos to the posts, making for a pretty awesome overall experience.
iOS 8 users will be happy to know that there’s a way for them to see their stats straight into the Today extension, which comes in pretty handy.
