Tunepics 1.2.2
It's called Tunepics and what it does is let you share your favourite pictures with a song that you pick and thus create what is referred to as a "moment." It's not exactly revolutionary, but it's pretty neat nonetheless.
It's not original, but it does have its own game
With so many social networks that all do the same thing, Tunepics looks an awful lot like just another Instagram, or Vine, or Twitter. But it’s actually a little of all three. It looks simple and it’s easy to just pick up and make your first share.
Easy to browse, easy to share
Tunepics uses a Vine-like scroll concept that lets you view one post after another with instant-play capabilities, as well as an option to play the tune at your own will.
When it’s you who does the sharing, you can either choose an existing photo from your camera roll or snap a picture on the spot, add a song preview from iTunes and share it with the world.
Sharing can be done inside the Tunepics garden as well as outside, to Facebook and Twitter. Unfortunately the app is prone to crashing (at least in this particular version) right in the process of sharing, forcing you to start all over again. The experience is fulfilling, especially if you choose the right song for the right picture.
The app enables users to discover the most inspiring tunepics from various Top Tuners from all over the world, title that all users can achieve. The new Discovery section lets users easily find friends on Tunepics, whether they come from other social networks, the email contact list or the phone contacts list.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
Despite borrowing so many aspects from other social networks, Tunepics looks like its own game and has an original feel to it. |
Function9
Browsing what others are sharing is nice enough, but making your own posts is even more fulfilling. It’s microblogging and social networking at its best. You can also add captions to your shares to give people more context. Unfortunately it’s got some crashing bugs, which hinders the experience considerably. |
Security6
Tunepics uses location services and fetches a lot of your social data if you allow it. |
Battery7
It doesn’t take its toll too much on the battery, but if you use it extensively (and if Vine is any indication, most people will) it will drain a fair amount of power. |
Price10
Free of charge with no ads or in-app purchases. We wonder who’s sponsoring this product, considering that it uses iTunes preview songs without any word from Apple that they’re in on this deal. |
Compatibility9
Needs iOS 7 to run and doesn’t have an iPad version. |
One of the few social networks that borrows just enough from others.
