Telling stories is in our blood. In one way or another, we’re all storytellers, even though we may not always have the right words to express ourselves. It is, however, something that people have been doing for a very long time and will continue doing so for an even longer period of time.

Steller is an app that mixes this exact activity with technology and a dose of social interaction. After all, how else will you know if your stories are appreciated by others or not?

Create stories

The app allows you to tell your own stories by mixing in together photographs, videos and text, straight from your phone. Not only will you do this quite easily, but when you’re done, it will look like a pretty book, for which you’ll have to flip through page after page.

On one page you may want to pick a certain text layout, while another will be filled with a cute video you shot, or maybe a picture to exemplify what you just wrote about. Basically, you can tell a lot of stories in this manner, or make use of this app in ways that it wasn’t necessarily intended to. There are users, for instance, who will create and post recipes on Steller, alternating between giving instructions on how to cook a certain dish and posting pictures of the process to help along the readers.

Customize it all

All these pages are customizable. You can pick from several layouts for text, videos and pictures, although there are obviously more of these available for the latter two. Furthermore, once you’ve picked the one you want you can make further adjustments, such as change the text, or tilt the item if you picked one of the plainer version of the template.

These stories can then be published to your collections, allowing you to share them with the world and to keep them organized.

What’s nicer is that you can also check out stories made by other users of the app about their year, about their trips and life experiences. You can like and comments on these stories or simply enjoy them without bugging in too much.

It’s also possible to go through a series of stories that aren’t featured on the app’s “front page,” but rather find them by category, checking out areas such as “DIY” (do it yourself), “Food + Drink,” “Holiday Cooking” and so on.
Steller is a pretty nice app that you can definitely find an use for.
