Likefy 1.2

Slap a like badge on your photos, or something a little more rude
It eludes me why Facebook lets people “like” their own content on the network, but if you’re the type who faves his own photos and posts, maybe you’ll also like Likefy by Manoel Franklin Costa.

Almost no UIat all

Manoel didn’t bother his head much while designing Likefy. He just made a canvas and included a list of “likes” to choose from at the bottom of the display. He was thoughtful enough to include an example of how to use the app featuring a gorgeous female model.

Likefy hardly has any design at all. However, the little UI that it has is not very well assembled and there are no instructions regarding the pinch-to-minimize feature.

More ads than function

Using Likefy is as easy as selecting a photo from the library (or taking one with the phone’s built-in camera on the spot), and slapping a Like on top of it. You can move the Like around and resize it by pinching with your fingers on it. Many of the Likes are locked behind a paywall. The in-app purchase also does away with the pesky ads. Some ads take up the whole screen and come back every time you exit and reenter the app.

When your work is done you can just hit the share button and send the image online on various services, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and more. Unfortunately only Twitter and Email worked in our testing.

Hits & Misses

hits

  • lets you slap a Facebook Like on your camera roll photos
  • lets you share the funny image online

misses

  • poor design
  • most of the Likes are locked behind an in-app purchase
• most of the sharing options don’t work
  • no iPad version
Bottom Line
Design / UI4

Likefy hardly has any design at all, which means there’s not much to score.

Function7

It’s admittedly a fun app but half its sharing features don’t work and most of the Likes are locked.

Security9

Doesn’t pose any security issues, but it does connect to the web and shares images with social networks.

Battery9

Doesn’t drain the battery and just isn’t the type of app that stays on for long.

Price7

Likefy Pro removes the ads and unlocks the other Likes for just $0.99. However, both the paid app and the free version are just very poor in features and design. There are numerous free apps that do more for less hassle and without the pesky ads.

Compatibility8

iOS 7.1 and no iPad version.

Editor's Review
FAIR

You’ll probably use it once and be done with it.
