Whether it’s your own town or one you’re only just visiting, keeping track of the places you go and enjoy greatly can be a great experience. On one hand, you won’t forget the memories you’ve created there if you leave various notes for the location, and on the other hand the very same thing can help others decide if to visit or not.

Citymaps is a tool that was created to help you “discover and collect” all your favorite places. Basically, if you add in all the locations you’ve visited, be them lunch spots, great hotels, cool cafes and so on, you’ll always remember their names and how you felt there so you can go back at a later time.

Plan ahead

What’s cooler about Citymaps is that you can plan ahead of time where to go when you visit a new city when on vacation or a business trip. Since there are plenty of users, you’re bound to find a cool location to spend the afternoon if you desire, or one restaurant where to have the perfect dinner.

The app uses your location to provide nearby places others have marked on the map. You can, however, look for any place you want and any area of the city by adjusting the coverage area. To

The “Explore” tab will list a bunch of places that have received the best ratings from visitors, while below you’ll discover any featured collections or mappers, as well as cool deals if any are available.

The “Friends” tab is supposed to make it easier for you to find places that your buddies have recommended since, after all, you probably trust their advice best (or if you don’t really like their tastes, you’ll know to avoid a place).

Social flavour

There’s also a “stream” where you can check out the latest activity from people you follow, which will remind you of literally every social network out there. The app’s settings area allows you to edit your profile and personal data, set notifications, and so on.

This is a pretty nice app and can come in handy quite a bit, especially when trying to find a nice place to spend some time at with your friends or coworkers.
