The app enables you to customize it all to the smallest details. You’ll have to pick the gender, and then move on to face and body details. You start off with the face shape, skin tone, hair length, type and style, eyebrows, eyes, pupils, eye color, nose and mouth shape, face details and blush shade, eyeshade and lipstick if you’re a lady. You can add glasses, pick the body height, build and an outfit.
When you’re done, you have to move on to actually enable the Bitmoji keyboard. This is done in a few easy steps which will have you exiting the app, going to the Settings area, scrolling to General -> Keyboard -> Keyboards and adding a new one – Bitmoji. Once this has been added to the list, you’ll have to give it full access so that you can switch between one and another in various apps.
What happens next is you go to whatever app you want and start chatting with your friends. The app supports iMessage, WhatsApp and even Facebook Messenger, although the list is a bit longer than that.
There, switch to Bitmoji and check out what emojis the app has created for you. Basically, the avatar you created is front and center to dozens of drawings that will help you communicate better. They’re all put under various category, varying from some that are happy, some that are sad and others that are supposed to help you celebrate.
Much like with other similar apps, tapping on any of these will actually copy the emoji to the clipboard and you’ll have to paste it to the message and tap “send.” If you want, before sending, you can add messages and draw a bit to enhance things.
The Bitmoji app also comes with a regular keyboard embedded in, which means that you won’t have to switch to the regular keyboard if you want to write some text to your friend.
All in all, this is a pretty cute app that’s fun to work with. It’s certainly going to be a lot of fun to discover all the emojis that were created following you saving your avatar. Hey, you can even make fun of Kim Kardashian’s famous photo shoot, so that’s something.
