Google has just announced a new feature for its Calendar application on both Android and iOS platforms, Reminders. Starting this week, users will be able to create Reminders in Google Calendar, so they can keep track of their to-dos and scheduled events at the same time.

Although Google Calendar users have been able to create entries to remind them of various tasks they must do, these entries would disappear in time. However, Reminders stick in the Calendar until they are completed.

They will appear at the top of the Calendar the next day, and the next, until the user completes that task and swipes the Reminder away.

Reminders will also add things like phone numbers and addresses automatically, which means that when a new one to make a call or run an errand is added, the number or address will be available in the Calendar.

According to Google, Calendar uses information from contacts, just like Inbox by Gmail, as well as Google's knowledge graph to provide more details to users creating Reminders.

The new Reminders feature will be available across many Google apps and services, including Inbox, Keep, and Google Now.

The new Reminders feature will be rolled out to both Android and iOS devices beginning this week, with the latest versions of Calendar on Google Play Store and App Store. Also, the new feature will be available for the web soon.
