Not only Android users can make phone calls with WhatsApp

Earlier today, we told you that WhatsApp voice calling feature was finally rolling out to everyone with an Android smartphone.

When the update arrived on our phones, we noticed it didn't say anything about the changes it brought. However, at a closer inspection, we found a new Calls tab that allows you to make voice calls via WhatsApp.

The good news is that not only Android users are getting the much craved for voice-calling feature, but also owners of BlackBerry smartphones (we spotted the feature on our BlackBerry Passport).

The update is probably being rolled out in stages, so if you received a WhatsApp update in the last few days, you'd better check if the Calls tab has been made available for your BlackBerry handset. In order to call a contact from your list, that person needs to have updated to the latest WhatsApp version too.

While Android and BlackBerry users have been given the green light to use the new feature, other platforms are still waiting to get the same treatment.

Earlier this month, we showed you a few screenshots which revealed that WhatsApp’s voice calling feature would be making it out to iOS users at some point in the future. Judging by how things are evolving, it shouldn't be long now.
