Bad news for Canadians that purchased the LG G2, as the smartphone won't receive any OS upgrades after Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

According to MobileSyrup, both Canadian carriers Telus and Rogers have removed any information regarding LG G2's upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The former announced last month that the LG G2 would definitely get the update, but now there's no mention on the carrier's website concerning the upgrade.

On the other hand, Rogers is now listing the LG G2 with Android 4.4.2 KitKat as the last version that will be available on the smartphone.

In addition, an LG G2 owner has inquired about the update and a Korean LG rep was pretty clear about this, “Unfortunately D803 model has no plan for upgrading to Lollipop, so we cannot upload the source code.”

The international version of LG G2 has already received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. AT&T and T-Mobile have also rolled out the update back in April, so the Canadian variant D830 is likely to be the only one that won't be getting the long-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

The announcement comes at a bad time since LG G4 is expected to arrive in Canada in mid-June and customers will probably think twice about getting the company's new flagship smartphone considering the lack of support from LG.
