Upon launching LocalSend, the tester is introduced to three distinct sections: Receive, Send, and Settings. The initial screen, Receive, allows for the acceptance of incoming files from nearby devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network. There is no need for external servers or complicated configurations; LocalSend handles the entire process on its own.
To initiate a file transfer, the user can simply search for nearby devices within the app's interface. Once the recipient is identified, establishing a connection and selecting the intended files is a snap. Whether it's a single file or multiple files of various types, you can include them by tapping the intuitive "Add" button.
LocalSend provides ways to send files to either a single recipient or multiple recipients simultaneously. If the direct transfer is not possible, the app includes an option to share files via URL.
When receiving files, you can automatically save them to a designated location. However, it is important to note that this feature is not recommended due to potential storage clutter. Customizing this setting and exploring other preferences can be done within the Settings window.
Within the Settings window, you can personalize your device name to make it more identifiable within the network. Moreover, adjusting the user interface's brightness, color scheme, and language can be done in the location. The option to switch the default download location, enable encryption for enhanced security, and restart the local server is also available within Settings.
