Photo Blender for Instagram 1.9.0
sharing on social networks.
There are many complex editors that you can check out, together with some interesting apps that help users blend images and create original pictures. One of such applications is Photo Blender for Instagram. It's filled with some tools, but it could use some more options for adjusting your images.
Intuitive but complex UI overcrowded with details
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial or a presentation of the features that users could check out. It would have been nicer if it had some instructions, since they could have provided users with an overview of the app's functions.
It doesn't have material design or a side menu that would provide users with quick access to the app's feature. It does however come with some tips for blending pictures but it needs some more tools and features. The settings menu has one feature that you can enable, the option to shake your phone in order to allow the app to randomly pick photos.
Blend pictures together
The app lets you access your camera in order to snap pictures or your photo album and pick the images that you would like to edit. You can blend up to two pictures together, pick the foreground and the background image.
There's also a randomize button on the top right corner of the screen and some instructions in the left. Moreover, you can adjust the screen transparency, the overlay or darken the colors on your pictures. There's the option to adjust the blend effect and use gestures in order to arrange the picture that you would like to apply as an overlay.
It needs some more tools
When you're done editing, you can simply save the picture on your device and then share it with friends. Unfortunately, the app doesn't come with any additional tools or features for editing images.
Users can't pick the destination folder for their pictures or even make changes to the image quality. It would have been nice if it had the option to crop images into various sizes or add multiple pictures to blend.
It also needs some stickers or filters that you could apply. It wouldn't hurt if it had some nice stock pictures that you could use as overlays, in case you can't find the right one in your gallery.

Bottom Line
Design / UI6
The interface is a bit confusing, it doesn't have a side menu or material design and you can't undo changes made to pictures. |
Function7
It works just fine, but the app really needs some more tools and features to make it more appealing to users. |
Security8
It needs access to only a few areas of your phone, you shouldn't worry about the app posing any privacy issues. |
Battery2
Consumption is really high for a photography editor so keep an eye on resources when using this app as it may drain your battery. |
Price8
It comes with banner and popup ads but unfortunately it doesn't have the option of removing them with an upgrade. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 3.0 or later, making it available to many users. |
It's a nice app, but it could use some more tools and features.
