OverDrive

Borrow e-books audiobooks, and streaming video from your library using OverDrive
Google Play Store is filled with all sort of interesting applications that you can use, especially if you like to read. One neat app is OverDrive. It's filled with lots of libraries where users can find books to borrow. You can also create a library with your own files and lend them to users. It sports a really intuitive UI with lots of tools at hand and a settings menu.

Sleek UI with lots of features at hand

The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient since users find tips quite beneficial especially when launching a new application. It has a side menu with quick access to all sort of sections and you can make some changes to the app's functions using the settings menu.

The first thing that you need to do when launching the app is to create an account. You can sign up using your Facebook account as well so that it wouldn't take so much time. There's a help section in the side menu, in case you might need some tips.

Borrow all sort of books

Instead of having a search filter with genres, it lets you find libraries first. You can search for them based on city, name or postal code. There are multiple libraries in most countries of the world, so you'll surely find something that you like. You'll need to register with an account on each library to be able to borrow books.

You'll find all sort of books on the network and some of them require you to pay before you may receive the ebook. Another nice feature inside the app is that users won't have to pay late fees when they forget to return a book, because titles are automatically returned.

More tools

All borrowed books are saved in your library, you can sync libraries, bookmarks, and recent positions across mobile devices. There's also the option to place holds, create wish lists, and return titles easily.

The settings menu lets you adjust options for audiobooks and video, enable volume boost for audiobooks and auto-play after selecting a title. In addition, you can adjust the headset and lockscreen options and use the night color scheme when reading at night. The app also comes with some notifications that you can adjust and you can pick the location where you would like the app to save titles.
