Lenka 1.0.20
Lenka is on the right path to becoming a really nice app, but it needs more editing tools and features in order to achieve that. It was developed by a well-known photographer, but it lacks additional editing tools to enhance images.
Sleek interface with plenty of features at hand
The app launches directly with the camera mode, letting users snap images using all the tools displayed on the sides of the screen. It doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient, since many similar apps come with least some tips for new users.
There's no settings menu, the app simply lets you snap black and white images with the option of making some adjustments. Consequently, you can't import images from your gallery and then edit them using the tools inside the app.
Snap black and white pictures
It lets you enable the flash so you can increase brightness on your pictures, but keep in mind that some pictures might turn up as a bit creepy. There's the option to adjust contrast manually with control slider or use the cooler/warmer temperature tint control slider. You can also take photos by pressing volume buttons or the icon on the screen.
The app is available in both landscape or portrait view. Pinch the screen to switch from rectangular "full frame" format to square format and you can toggle between auto and manual tap to focus by tapping the "AF" button on the control panel.
Some more tools
Other than that, the app comes with an about section, filled with more information on the app. In addition, you can check out the gallery with snapped pictures and edit whichever you want.
However, it doesn't have that many editing tools the most that you can do is to crop the image to your wanted size. You can also remove it from your gallery or share it online with friends. It has a separate icon for sharing on Instagram, but you'll have to have the app installed on your phone.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The interface is quite simplistic, it even lacks a settings menu and doesn't have that many sections. |
Function6
It works just fine, but only has a few editing tools and some features compared to other applications on the market. |
Security9
It only needs a few permissions from your phone, so it shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery6
Consumption is a bit high, keep an eye on resources when using this app. |
Price10
It doesn't come with ads or any in-app purchases which is quite nice. |
Compatibility7
It should work on devices running Android version 4.1 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It definitely needs more work and more editing tools.
