Facebook is by far the top social network in the world, with billions of users and a growing popularity that it seems highly unlikely that people would get tired of this network very soon. Fortunately, you can access it on multiple platforms and devices so that you would be connected all the time.

But people like to check their latest messages on their phones, as it's more convenient. The official Facebook app may cause some phones to slow down, that's why Facebook launched a lighter version that needs fewer resources to work. However, it does have some flaws.

A more simplistic interface and a more basic design

Facebook doesn't need any additional presentation, that's why developers didn't include a tutorial in this app. Another reason is the desire to reduce the app's total size so it would take up fewer space on your phone.

The design only has the basic traits of Facebook, you'll have the toolbar on the top of the screen, but you can't swipe the screen right to navigate through them. In addition, the whole design of Facebook Lite might seem a bit dated, but that's only so the app's size would be smaller.

Check your news feed and reply to messages

You can use the app in order to log in to your Facebook app or to create an account. It launches with your news feed and lets you scroll down to view all the posts. It lets you sync your phone's contacts as to find friends faster by their phone number.

In addition, you can search for users with the search bar inside the app. The whole layout is similar to that of the official Facebook app and it even lets you change font size or make some privacy settings to your account.

Some flaws

The app seems to have some stability issues, it fails to load messages for certain accounts and it doesn't display a notification for new messages. In addition, it also posts errors in the settings menu and fails to let users make any changes to their accounts.

The app won't load videos and it seems that it doesn't let you scroll on pictures if you're using a phone with a smaller screen. It also doesn't display replied messages and you can't reply to them.

Moreover, users can't tag a person specifically by name in comments which is quite inconvenient. It also logs you out of the app every now and then and you'll need to type in your credentials again.
