Carbon for Twitter 2.4.31
Smartphone apps help us do just that, however sometimes we need a more simplified version of the official app. Google Play Store is filled with all sort of applications for various social networks, especially Twitter. Carbon is one of them.
Sleek and elegant interface
Carbon for Twitter is a simplified but sleek client for Twitter. It comes in a dark interface to replace the white and blue UI that we've all gotten used to. It's simplified because it gives instant access to all of your tweets, messages and notifications with a simple swipe.
It comes with a very comprehensive tutorial showing new users how to access all features inside the app and make the most out of Carbon for Twitter. The first thing that you need to do after launching the app is to log in with your Twitter account. This doesn't take long and afterward you'll have access to all information under your account.
Simplified Twitter interface
The app doesn't have that many screens, so you don't need to worry about getting lost inside it. Simply swipe right or left to navigate between your timeline, mentions and direct messages.
You can also swipe up or down using two fingers to jump at the top or bottom of the timeline, the app doesn't take long to do so, but that also depends on the number of tweets. Tap one on any tweet to make its links, mentions and hashtags clickable and show quick actions.
Carbon comes with integrated browser and YouTube player and you can view Vine previews and playbacks. It plays GIFs, Twitter videos, and lets you see multiple images. If you swipe in from the right edge of the screen, you can reveal the quick timeline where you can access lists, retweets, favorites and saved searches.
More features
Check out trending topics worldwide or in certain cities and countries. The app lets you change the tweet size and type style if you wish. Media previews can be automatically shown and you can enable the oxide function that turns images and avatars greyscale on timelines, to make it easier to spot. Other than that, the app lets you adjust notifications.
Have it prompt you only when receiving mentions or messages. The frequency can be changed, have the app notify you every 15 minutes for new mentions and messages or turn updates off during certain hours of the day. You can also add multiple Twitter accounts inside the app and switch between them.
