WikiHow 2.2.1
Simplistic GUI that could use an upgrade
The one thing that strikes you when launching the app is its rustic user-interface that doesn't come with additional themes or changes to be made. There's the option of zooming in on text, to make it easier to read.
The app comes with fewer options compared to the desktop version. First of all, it doesn't mention the author of entries, it has no comment section and you can't add information to articles, nor can you upload an article.
But, probably the most important thing is that the app doesn't play videos. In addition to that, the delay time for opening an article is quite long, considering there's no video streaming.
It doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions for new users to get the hang of the app and navigate through it easily and without any fuss.
Browse through various topics
Once you get over the dated interface and its lack of video streaming, wikiHow is quite a useful app. You can browse through various articles based on categories or their popularity. There's also the option of adding bookmarks, so you can access the information anytime you wish even if you're offline.
Articles feature clear instructions, together with pictures on how to do a certain thing. There are also tips and warnings, together with things you may need and information on the source of the article.
Aside from this, there's not much more you can do with this app, as it doesn't even come with the option of sharing an article or saving it for offline reading.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
Simplistic design that lacks many useful features available in the desktop version and doesn't allow any editing of articles. |
Function7
The app comes with a rather long delay time that compels users to close the app. In addition, there's no video streaming and some articles are missing pictures. |
Security10
No online registration and few permissions from your device. It's one of those apps that imposes almost no security or privacy risks. |
Battery8
Normal consumption of battery, the app was well optimized to take up few power resources. |
Price8
Free of charge, no in-app purchases but comes with annoying ads that take up a lot of screen space and interfere with articles. |
Compatibility7
The app requires Android version 4.0 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
A useful app, if you can get over its dated design and lack of extra features.
