Customize your lock screen and make it stand out using this neat app

One great thing about smartphones is that there are many ways in which you can customize them and make your devices stand out from the crowd. You can use launchers, wallpapers and even screen locker apps to do so and setting them up would only take a few minutes.

VLocker is one of such apps, with some features but it could use more themes and options.

Sleek and fluent interface

The UI of this app is really nice, but since it's just a screen locker app it only comes with the settings menu and the actual screen locker. It doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions for new users, to help them navigate and make changes to the app easier.

Still, the UI has a clean and sleek layout, with easy to access sections and some tools. However, the app is only in beta so it will get more features and options over time, but the start is good.

Activate the screen locker

The app has many ways in which you can customize the lock screen but before you can do that, you must activate the locker and draw a pattern. The UI resembles that found on iPhones, with the same slide to unlock gesture and the same design.

Users can choose from assigning a pattern or a pin code to lock their phones. In addition, you can have the app show the password directly on the page or draw patterns without lines, so people wouldn't be able to peak.

Also, you can blur the background of the password page or enable the emergency unlock, which disables the locker by tapping on two buttons.

Customize the lock screen to your liking

We expected to find more customization features inside the app, but instead we only discovered 10 themes for the pattern lock and no actual wallpapers for the screen. Still, you can import an image from your gallery or have the app display your phone's wallpaper as well.

Vlocker displays the time and weather on your lock screen, but it has trouble finding your location. Even if you set it up manually, it still won't show you current temperatures meaning that the weather feature simply doesn't work.

Still, you can activate lock screen voice, toolbox switch and have the phone vibrate if you type in the wrong passcode. You can also set a delay time for when the screen will be locked.
