The Weather Network
The Weather Network has its own app that comes with plenty of features for checking the weather and conditions in numerous cities from all around the world. However, it has fewer features compared to the official website.
Sleek and intuitive interface
The app doesn't come with online registration but it does want personal information from users like their age and gender, mainly for advertisement purposes. You can deny and not provide such information but it's still bothersome considering that this is the official application of a major network.
Still, it comes with instructions and tips displayed on the home screen to show users how to access all features inside the app. The interface is quite nice with a colorful blue background but no options to change it, but you can access the side menu and all of the features from there.
Check the weather in multiple locations
The app lets you check temperatures in multiple locations simply by accessing the menu on the right side of the screen, you can add any city from around the world and you can even change the temperature unit or switch from the metric to the imperial system.
The home screen is filled with conditions for the upcoming days, simply tap on one to see details. It displays wind speeds and direction, together with humidity, chances of snow or rain and a chart with temperatures for upcoming hours.
Check the news and watch videos
The Weather Network also comes with a section filled with the latest weather news and videos that you can check out. There's the option of enlarging text but you can't share articles on social networks. The maps section is filled with all sort of information on the weather, displayed on a map with your location.
You can add layers with precipitations and cloud covers and check the weather for the upcoming hours, although the app has some trouble with displaying layers. Still, you can check out the videos but the app doesn't come with the picture of the day section, found on the website.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface could use some improvements, especially in the side menu and on the home screen as it should use more animation. |
Function8
The app works just fine although it's missing some sections that you can find on the official website. |
Security8
It seems quite a few permissions from your phone, as well as personal information for advertisements. |
Battery7
Consumption isn't that high but you should still keep an eye on resources when using this app. |
Price8
It's free, but comes with some banner ads which might become annoying and there's no option of removing them. |
Compatibility7
The developer didn't mention Android versions compatible with this app. |
It's a nice weather app but it does need some improvements.
