The Weather Channel 5.3.0
Sleek and easy-to-use interface
You'd expect a weather app to come with a sleek interface and intuitive design, and you wouldn't be wrong. The Weather Channel app is filled with nice background images depending on the weather in your current location. The app requires you to sign up with an account in order to create notifications.
You can have the app let you know when severe weather or high levels of pollen were predicted. Other than that, you can adjust the units of measure, by choosing between the imperial or metric system or have the app provide you with info based on your location.
Check the weather in your current location
The app opens with predicted temperatures in your location, together with the forecasts for the day and a neat background image. However, it comes with banner ads which take up some screen space. Swipe up and you'll be able to access all the information you need. There's information on humidity, dew point, visibility, pressure and wind speed.
You can check hourly temperatures for the next few days or the 10 day forecast. You can watch videos regarding weather phenomenons or reports from the Weather Channel, but you can't change video quality thus some may seem a bit blurry. In addition, there are ads at the beginning of each video.
Get detailed information
The radar section is filled with all sorts of information. It uses maps to display layers of severe storms, floods, snow or other phenomenons. You can also view layers of dew points, wind speeds and clouds on zoomed out maps.
The app also has a section that lets you report the weather in your location and see if anyone else has done the same. Other than that you have access to airport data, weather news, flu data, articles relating to the weather and pollen data. You can add as many locations as you like and view temperatures for said cities.
