One great thing about TED is that instead of placing speeches into boring categories like politics, science, media, etc., it actually divides talks based on the feeling they give you. The app requires you to choose from inspirational, funny, fascinating talks, based on what you wish to see at one point.
Afterwards, you can select the length of the video, making sure you have the time to watch it full. Not all apps for viewing videos have this search filter.
In the next screen, TED app shows a list of your selection, along with the date when the video was filmed and posted, as well as the location. You can either watch the video or download it in high or low quality and see it later.
Watch videos on interesting topics
You can watch the video in HQ, if your internet connection allows it and you can even add subtitles, which come in various languages but not for all talks.
There's also an option for sharing the video via social networking websites or saving it in cloud accounts and you can download just the audio of a talk and listen to it while you're driving.
Check out featured or bookmarked talks
The app provides access to a whole list of new and popular talks. You can either listen to the audio or watch the video also. There's information on when the talk was filmed and posted, as well as a short description of the speaker.
There are also suggestions of similar speeches. In addition, you can add bookmarks to videos that interest you the most, so you'll find them quickly. Moreover, the app provides Chromecast support so you can play videos on your TV and watch them comfortably from the sofa.
