Photo Effects
Photo Effects app by Byte Mobile is a nice picture editor filled with all sort of features, similar to those that you may find in Photoshop. You can even work on multiple projects and do all sort of changes to your pictures.
Easy-to-use interface with some extra themes
The app launches directly with the home page, featuring all pictures stored on your device neatly arranged into thumbnails. Tap on the 'hamburger' icon to get access to all sections inside the app. The app comes with multiple themes and languages to choose from. In addition, each theme has a different font style to go with the design of the skin.
There are some settings that you can do to the UI, pick a destination folder for output files, adjust the number of history entries for undo actions or hide effects that might slow down the app. In fact, the app actually functions slowly, which is quite inconvenient considering that it takes some time to apply effects.
Edit pictures easily
You can snap photos, load them from your gallery or search for pictures on the internet. Simply type in a keyword and the app finds all sort of matching images on Flickr, Imgur, Google Images or more.
Tap on one and it will be downloaded on your phone, but it might take some time to do so. You can then apply all sort of filters and effects or make basic editing changes like crop, adjust brightness, saturation, apply texture, draw on images and more.
More features
Users may also apply frames, add stickers, text, paste another picture or add a weblink. You can also ad shapes and contours to pictures. Other than that, the app lets you set images as wallpapers.
It comes with a draw section, providing users with canvases of multiple textures and colors. It lets you adjust the size and color or brushes and lets you add many stickers and other things to your drawing.
All in all, the app has multiple tools and features, but filters and effects are a bit dated. Moreover, it's not quite an alternative for Photoshop since it's missing many key features that could actually let it compete against the top photo editor out there.
