MSN Weather 1.1.0
One of such apps is MSN Weather, an official Microsoft application that offers weather information in all locations around the world. It sports a nice interface and is packed with all sort of features.
Intuitive interface with plenty of features at hand
The app launches directly with the option of picking a default location or having the app detect yours easily using GPS. Even if it might be easier to have the app find you, typing in the name of your city is faster and doesn't take up so many battery resources as the GPS does.
MSN Weather doesn't come with a tutorial but it does have onscreen instructions, explaining users how to access all features of the app and how to get complete information on upcoming weather conditions.
Pick more than one location
Before you start using the app, you could pick one of the multiple editions available so that you'll get the weather in your language. You can also adjust settings to change the unit of measurement for temperatures or modify your current location. The home section displays the current temperatures in your location for the upcoming days, together with the wind speed and chance of precipitation.
It also shows you the temperature and precipitations for the upcoming hours. The app tells you when the sun rises and sets, together with the moon phase. One nice feature is that it compares current weather conditions with the ones during the past 30 years.
Check out maps and news
The app also shows you the visibility, humidity level and dew point. Swipe the screen left to find maps with overlays of temperatures, precipitation, satellite view and cloud coverage. Other than that, you can check ski conditions in various resorts near your location or view temperatures in all of your favorite cities in the same section for comparison.
The app also comes with plenty of articles with the latest news on weather conditions from all over the world. They're collected from top websites and news providers and come with the option of sharing them online or enlarging text.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The app sports a really nice interface with plenty of features at hand and a side menu that gives you instant access to all sort of sections. |
Function8
It works just fine, although it could have used some more features like an icon in the notification bar. |
Security7
It needs many permissions from your phone, the app seems to be quite intrusive. |
Battery8
Consumption isn't that high but it might be noticeable if you constantly watch videos. |
Price9
It comes with some ads, but they're mostly to Microsoft or MSN. |
Compatibility7
The app should work on devices running Android version 4.1 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It's a nice app but it needs some improvements.
