Dated UI with few features
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, meaning that new users would have to explore the app and find features themselves. But the app doesn't have a complicated UI. In fact, it sports a rudimentary UI that needs some time to load and would desperately use an update.
It doesn't have a side menu, not even settings for adjusting the interface or enabling some features. It lacks many essential tools that any video player should have, like the option to play only audio, to add subtitles, to adjust aspect ratio or to lock the screen so it wouldn't shift when you tilt your phone.
It only plays some videos
It doesn't retrieve video files on your phone, users are supposed to browse through their directories and folders in order to find clips. When you found some, we strongly recommend that you add them to your favorites files to access them faster.
The app has trouble playing videos, it only plays some MP4 files which is quite inconvenient. It doesn't have codecs or hardware acceleration which means that it has trouble playing HD videos and sound. Audio volume can be adjusted from the player mode, but it's quite difficult to do so.
Many shortcomings
The app has many shortcomings, it doesn't let you create playlists and doesn't come with an option of adding subtitles. It lacks a sleep timer and the option to jump to time. It also doesn't have any option of playing audio or any kind of unique features that would make it stand out from the crowd. MP4 HD FLV Video Player is fille with all sort of ads, including banner and popup ones.
There's no option of removing them which is quite inconvenient and annoying. Also, when you tilt your phone and shift from landscape view to portrait, the video pauses a bit. Moreover, it takes a lot of time to find videos on your device even if you use the search bar.
