Weather applications are really popular on Google Play Store, there are many apps to choose from but not all of them are complex and have multiple features to choose from.

Still, you can find cute and easy-to-use apps, very useful even if they don't really use intricate animation and visual effects. One of such apps is Local Weather, although it could use a more appealing interface and wallpaper on the home screen.

Simplistic app that could use an update

Local Weather doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions to help new users discover all features inside this app. It launches directly with the settings menu, letting users pick a location and add it to the bookmarks section.

You can also select the units of measurement for temperature and wind speed. Users must pick the country and then the city to add to bookmarks. Other than that, the app doesn't come with any additional features or ways in which you can customize it to your liking. Still, it's a great tool for checking the weather fast and easily.

Check the weather easily

The app lets you check the weather in multiple locations easily, because of its lightweight and simplistic interface. You'll find some options inside the app under the overflow icon on the bottom of the screen.

You'll find the bookmarks section there, together with settings, a section with details about the app and one that lets you exit it easily. It displays the current temperature, wind speed, humidity and cloud cover. It tells you the forecast for the current day, in the morning, afternoon, evening and overnight.

Some shortcomings

Local weather also provides you with information on the weather on the next day, day after tomorrow and the forecast for the upcoming 7 days. But the app doesn't come with a home screen widget, which means that you can't check the weather easily without launching the app.

In addition, it doesn't come with the option of displaying an icon in the status bar. It's also missing graphs and charts to illustrate temperature variations. The app also doesn't have a section with the latest weather news and developments.

Other than that, it would have been nice if it had the option to change the theme or wallpaper inside the app. Moreover, the app could use some more features and tools for customizing the app.
