Intellicast Weather 1.3.3
There are many weather applications on Google Play Store, one of the less popular ones is Intellicast Weather. But the number of downloads shouldn't be the sole factor to take into consideration when deciding if an app is good or not. Intellicast Weather is a nice application but it could use an upgrade.
A bit dull interface that could use some improvement
The app launches with a page allowing users to either enter their location or enable GPS and have the app pinpoint their exact location on a map. Once you've set it up, you can start enjoying the app and discover all its features, since it doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions for you to check out.
The home screen consists of the map with your current residing city and the forecast on the bottom of the page. It also displays the time, which is nice since we haven't seen other weather apps to do so.
Check the weather easily
You can add multiple locations to the app, as to always be informed on the weather conditions wherever you go. The app displays the current temperature, together with the forecast for the coming hours.
You can also view a video with temperature variations in the next 6 hours or check for alerts in your current location. It also shows you the wind speed and direction, humidity, dew point, pressure and visibility.
A separate section is filled with a 10 day forecast, displaying upcoming conditions and temperatures. An hourly forecast is also available, the app lets you check temperatures and conditions for certain hours of the upcoming three days.
Check out the blog and tweak settings to make the app your own
The blog section is filled with all sort of news and articles on weather conditions and alerts for various parts of the world. The app comes with some customization features, it lets you decide which layers can be applied on the map, either layers with temperatures, the radar, road weather, snow cover and wind speed.
There are also overlays to choose from, together with the option of getting alerts for certain conditions and managing notifications on your phone. The app posts a temperature icon in the status bar but it doesn't come with a widget.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is a bit dull and could use an upgrade considering that weather apps normally sport really stylish UI. |
Function8
It works just fine and doesn't have trouble with updating temperatures, but it could really use a widget since it has become a standard tool for any weather app. |
Security8
It needs your location services in order to provide accurate information, but it shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery6
Consumption is a bit high for a weather app considering that it constantly updates forecast information. |
Price8
It comes with banner ads and there's no option of removing them. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 2.3.3 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It's a nice weather app that actually works, but it could use some improvement.
