Ease of use is the most important aspect especially for such applications where content is more important than any other aspect of the app. There are few settings that you can do the app.
Firstly, you can have it show news, particularly notifications when the app is updated with new guides and features. Other than that, you can enable mirror mode and have it display instructions and pictures reversed, so you wouldn't get confused if you're using a mirror to tie the knot.
Learn how to tie knots
The app comes with instructions for tying regular knots to ties. They're displayed at the bottom of pictures showing how to arrange the ends of a tie and how to bring them together into a knot. The guide features step-by-step instructions that easier to follow than a video.
The pictures are wide so you can look in the mirror and tie the knot perfectly. Still, it would have been nice if it provided users with the option of playing slideshow of pictures, so they wouldn't have to swipe the screen for the next step considering that their hands are busy with holding the ends of ties. The app also displays the number of steps for each knot.
Tie bows
It comes with one guide on how to tie a bow in case you're attending an event dressed in a tuxedo and need to look sharp. The free version of this app comes with banner ads, but only inside guides.
They flicker and might take away your focus from instructions. There's no option of removing them. It also comes with 12 guides for ties and one for bow ties, 7 more can be accessed if you upgrade to the premium version for 2.76$.
