HD Camera Ultra
HD Camera Ultra is one of the most popular ones and probably the most simplistic, which isn’t always a good thing as some users may want more features and tools when trying to take photos of important events in their lives or they simply want to capture interesting images.
Simplistic app that lacks instructions
The app doesn’t really have an interface. There are just a few settings that you can do to the camera, like disabling the shutter sound or preview animation shown after taking the photo. Also, you can have the app save photos to your SD card, so you don’t use up too much space on the device itself.
Volume buttons can be used for zoom, with a simple long press. While a short press can be used for shooting images. Still, it would have been nice if the app came with instructions or at least some tips on the screen, rather than having users tap on icons to find settings and shortcuts.
Adjust settings before snapping pictures
The app works in both landscape and portrait modes, having some features on the bottom of the screen. Two icons are provided for settings, which makes it a waste of space if you ask us.
Focus mode can be changed, by choosing between auto and macro, while the white balance can also be changed. Choose from auto, incandescent, daylight, fluorescent or cloudy. Change exposure and scene mode, by selecting from a wide variety of options, including landscape, theater, beach, sunset, etc.
Take pictures easily
You can enable the flash and switch between cameras on your device, if you have more than one. Also, the gallery of snapped pictures can be accessed on the right but you can’t simply tap on the screen to take a picture.
Banner ads take up some of the screen and they’re really annoying as they change every couple of seconds. Sadly, there’s no option of removing them from the screen. Also, the menu with effects automatically closes after 2 seconds, quite convenient if you ask us.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
Simplistic but highly functional design, but there are two icons for settings which take up necessary space. |
Function8
The variety of scene modes makes this app a must for those looking to enhance their camera performance, but the app could use some more features. |
Security8
There’s absolutely no need for the app to access location services, but still it does. |
Battery4
It takes up a lot of resources and could also cause your phone to overheat. |
Price8
Free of charge but comes with annoying banner ads which can’t be removed with an upgrade. |
Compatibility8
The developer didn’t mention Android versions compatible with this device. |
A neat camera app that does what it promises, but it could use some improvements and additional features.
