However, FLV HD MP4 Video Player is by far the worst that we've ever come across, despite its high ratings and numerous downloads. The interface is non-responsive and old, it doesn't play mp4 files that other apps have no trouble with and it even lacks a settings menu.
Extremely dated UI that desperately needs an upgrade
The app doesn't come with a tutorial, in fact it doesn't have any instructions or tips for new users. The interface is extremely dated, it doesn't have material design or a side menu.
Actually, the app doesn't even come with a settings menu, all it has is a toolbar on the bottom of the screen with access to a few sections. In addition, it has some stability issues, you'll notice that it may crash or the UI may become non-responsive at times.
It only plays some MP4 files
Don't expect the app to play all videos on your phone, it only plays some MP4 files but not that many. It either refuses to play them or only streams audio leaving you with a blank screen but sound in the headsets. While we're on the topic, there are no headset settings but you can adjust volume from controls inside the app which is a basic feature.
You can play videos in fullscreen, which is recommended, but that won't guarantee that you would get rid of the annoying banner ads which can even cover controls. The app doesn't support HD and the reason why it won't play so many videos, it's because it doesn't have any codecs.
Many shortcomings
You can search for video files individually inside directories and folders on your phone or have the app retrieve them. But you'll have to be patient if you choose the latter option. Users can't create playlists, you can only add videos to a favorites section, but the app won't play them automatically.
You can however tap on the skip button to play the next video. Another annoying thing about the app is that it doesn't display preview icons for videos, to make it easier to spot the video that you wish to play.
There's no option to add subtitles, which could be quite annoying if you're trying to watch a movie. Some players come at least with the option to crop videos, this one obviously doesn't.
