Climatology 1.0.4
Climatology is one of those apps; it provides users with climate information for anywhere on Earth, including temperature, rain and sunniness. However, the app is quite limited and only offers some information on the average temperature in areas all over the world.
Beautiful interface with plenty of features at hand
The app launches directly with a map of the world, and it features all the tools that you might need at the bottom of the screen. Typically, applications created by top developers come with a tutorial or instructions of use.
However, Microsoft chose to keep things simple and didn't provide users with any tips to make it easier to navigate inside the app and discover all its features. Still, the app is quite simplistic focusing mainly on the information it provides and the really beautiful design.
Check the average temperature anywhere in the world
Use the map to find a location or simply type in the name of a city or country in the search bar. Temperature variation is displayed on the map, and you can zoom in or out to view details better. You can search for any city in the world, the app even displays the coordinates for your location.
A bar on the bottom shows you the average temperature highs and lows for every month of the year. You can also view how many days of rain are expected in any given month, together with the percent of clear sky and humidity. You can share information displayed in the app with friends on social networks.
Simplistic app with few sections
Other than that, the app is quite limited. It only comes with one setting, for changing the temperature format from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Still, it lets you explore the climate you can expect in a particular place at a particular time. It's not based on a weather forecast, but on a climate model that considers historical weather data.
It's perfect for finding the best city or country to visit during summer or winter. It lets you differentiate between the climate in various locations around the world, but overall the app is quite simple, and it doesn't have that many uses. It could use a section with weather forecast, at least for your current location and some selected cities.

Bottom Line
Design / UI10
The interface is really beautiful, making it easy to navigate through temperature, humidity and rain levels. |
Function7
It only comes with a few features and has quite a limited use. The app could really use some more sections and tools. |
Security9
It only needs a few permissions from your phones so it really shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery6
Consumption is quite high for such a small and simplistic app, keep an eye on resources when using it. |
Price10
It's completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases whatsoever. |
Compatibility7
It should work on devices running Android version 4.4 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It does have a beautiful design, but it can't compensate for the lack of features and limited usability.
