Nowadays, people maintain relationships with friends and family with the help of Facebook as well. However, you need to be logged in to receive notifications on their upcoming birthdays and message them accordingly. But Birthdays app notifies you instantly and provides you with multiple options for congratulating them.

Dated UI that could use an upgrade

Birthdays app doesn't come with any customization feature and sports a rather dull and dated UI that could use an upgrade. There are no instructions, but you can find useful tips under the settings menu, located in the top right corner of the screen. Also, the app comes in multiple languages that you can choose from.

The first thing you need to do after you launch the app is to import contacts from Facebook. The app doesn't take long to do so and you can choose to import all of them or just for certain friends of your choice.

Sort birthdays

All birthdays are displayed in a list, you can arrange them by days left, name or age. The app also displays zodiac signs for each friend, you can choose from western, Chinese, both of them or none. It automatically loads their profile pictures, but you can disable the feature if you wish.

The app automatically notifies you of upcoming birthdays at the hour of your choosing, you can add a certain ringtone or have the app show alerts 14 days in advance. The app makes it easy to search through contacts and find certain friends and their birthdays.

Add birthdays and anniversaries, send texts and gifts

Users can also manually add birthdays, anniversaries or other events. Even after you've added an entry, there's the option of changing the date, name or picture of the contact.

Users have the option of calling, texting or sending a gift to friends. The app connects to a webpage filled with free and cute e-cards that you can send to your friends.

Moreover, you can send data to another device. Data is synced to a server and protected by a password of your choosing. Birthdays can also be saved on your SD card if you wish to free some space on your phone.
