9GAG TV is a nice application that delivers the latest funny videos from the internet and lets you view or share them for later. It's quite simplistic with only some features available, meaning it could use an update.
Sleek design but the app is really simplistic
It's better for applications to come with a complex interface as to provide users with plenty of features and tools to get them started. It doesn't come with instructions or any sort of tips, but you wouldn't really need them since the app is quite simplistic and doesn't even have a menu.
It launches directly with the home section, where you can search for videos based on various topics, using the drawer on the top of the screen.
Watch various videos
The app provides a collection of all sort of funny videos collected from the internet, they also appear on the main 9GAG app. All videos come from YouTube, which means that you can adjust the video quality if you wish but there's no option of setting a default one.
Videos play in both portrait and landscape mode, but the app takes a while to reload videos when you switch between modes which is quite inconvenient. The app has an icon for reloading the video feed and one section where you can check out videos that you've favorited.
Swipe to browse through videos
Videos are featured in the form of thumbnails on the main screen, swipe left to dismiss a video or right to save it to your favorites and check it later. You also have two icons on the main screen to do so and there's the option of sharing videos online.
The app displays the duration of each clip and the number of views it has. It doesn't load video commercials from YouTube, but does have some ads in the form of annotations.
Moreover, there's no option of signing in with your 9GAG account and rating videos. All in all, the app is pretty simplistic and it really needs more features, but it's perfect if you just want to quickly browse and watch funny videos.
