DEVICE INSPECTOR 1.0.0.0
For those who are looking for a basic utility of this kind, DEVICE INSPECTOR might be a viable alternative, as it is very easy to work with and provides system data in virtually no time.
Friendly interface with a clean layout
This application comes with an easy to use interface, where the nice graphics blend with a practical arrangement of the various categories for which the utility can get information on the fly
The data is very easy to read thanks to the consistent structuring that is kept throughout the utility and browsing the various areas of DEVICE INSPECTOR is done smoothly, as there are no delays of other kind of similar glitches in sight.
There is, however, a source of discontent that appears in most areas of the application and it is represented by some animated advertisements, which keep on changing in the lower side of the screen.
Check out phone info at a glance
As soon as you start the utility, it will gather all the data that is accessible and readable then display it in the corresponding are inside one of the several sections it comes with.
There are no details about the major system components, except for the app memory, but the readings may be off in this respect and on some handsets, like the Nokia Lumia 1520 powered by Windows Phone 8.1 DEVICE INSPECTOR cannot even read this info.
The battery status is shown in the main screen, but the data will not refresh by itself, so you will have to restart the app to view the correct percentage.
Hardware and sensor detection
Another piece of information this application fails to provide with accuracy is the screen resolution, so it is unable to recognize Full HD displays and presents them as HD 720x1280.
When it comes to viewing the availability of other various sensors and components, the app reports correctly most of them, but it cannot recognize the NFC chip and the SD card on some handsets.
The data cannot be exported or saved in any way, but given the lack of precision in reporting phone characteristics and capabilities it's probably best that the erroneous data cannot be sent out.

The looks of this tool are not too impressive, but the decent graphics and structuring of the content help it keep some points here, despite the irritating ad banners. |

The app fails to detect properly a lot of system components and parameters, so it cannot be a reliable source of information. |
Security10
Since the utility is supposed to offer all the details about the device, it accesses many sensitive areas of the system. |
Battery5
The battery usage is high as the application's power consumption goes well beyond moderate levels at all times. |
Price9
Everything inside this app is free to access, but if there are no costs for the actual features, users have to endure streams of annoying ads. |
Compatibility9
Made to work well on most Windows Phone powered handsets on the market, DEVICE INSPECTOR requires version 8 or higher of the OS. |
